Release Notes for SAP Cloud Appliance Library

With this option you can configure the exact date and time when the solution instance is suspended. By default, when you create an instance, this schedule option is selected for it. The activation time (start time) of the instance begins when it is created.

You can create a backup of a landscape (it consists of two or more instances) to protect the landscape against data loss. When you want to recover the landscape after any kind of data loss, you can restore the instances from its backup configurations. Please note, that this kind of backup does not allow a point in time recovery. It only allows a recovery of the state when the backup has been taken.

You can select a volume type for the virtual machine(s) only for the solution instances created in the Amazon Web Services cloud provider.

Amazon EBS provides two volume types:

• Standard - it offers cost effective storage that is ideal for solutions with light or bursty I/O requirements.
• Provisioned IOPS (input/output operations per second) - it is designed to meet the needs of I/O-intensive workloads, particularly database workloads, that are sensitive to storage performance and consistency in random access I/O throughput.

They differ in performance characteristics and price, allowing you to tailor your storage performance and cost to the needs of your solution. For more information about these volume types, see the AWS documentation.

In the SAP Cloud Appliance Library you can see the following new status visualizations:

• Status of the current instance operation in the Instances tab
• Status of the virtual machines in the instance details
• Status of the solution in the Solutions tab

The quick launch screen is implemented in the Test Drive Center for SAP Cloud Appliance Library. The user can create a solution instance with a few clicks.

The integration with SAP HANA Marketplace is implemented in the Test Drive Center for SAP Cloud Appliance Library.

Several usability improvements are implemented:

• HTTP one-click connect to a solution instance is implemented
• Changes in the account selection when activate a solution or change accounts for a solution

Improvements for the performance of the SAP Cloud Appliance Library are implemented.

Store the data of the private key in SAP Cloud Appliance Library for later use. You need this key for accessing the solution instance.

The instance can be managed by the following users of SAP Cloud Appliance Library:

• The account owner can perform the following operations: create and manage solution instance (activate, connect, suspend, restart, terminate, back up and restore instance).
• The user who has created the instance can perform the following operations: activate, view, connect, suspend, restart, terminate, back up and restore instance.
• The user who has not created the instance can perform the following operations: view and connect to the instance.

When you create or edit a solution instance, you can configure (add, edit or delete) access points for this solution instance. If a solution has SAP GUI access points configured, you can connect to this solution directly from SAP Cloud Appliance Library.

If there are access points configured for a solution, the Amazon Web Services firewall is enabled.

Several usability improvements are added in the user interface:

• The steps of Create Instance wizard are improved
• The Instance dialog box where you can view or edit the instance properties is improved
